Dojo Discernments
Hi all! here is this weeks edition of Dojo Discernments where I share nuggets of thought from the week.
Earn it Daily
You have to earn it to keep it.
Every day is assesment and selection. Whatever you have worked for to this point can be lost today.
The Road Less Travelled
The path that leads directly to your dreams is often the hardest one to walk. It feels upside down, but in reality, it may be the easiest in the long run.
Choose not to sacrifice and the journey drags on, sometimes forever. Choose to embrace the hard road, and you may find yourself arriving sooner than you ever thought.
In the military, they call this the military crest: the most punishing terrain to climb, but the one that guarantees survival. March along the ridgeline, the easy route and you silhouette yourself against the night sky for all to see. No good. You take the hard route so no one can follow you. The same is true in life: the difficult way is the one that keeps you alive and on track.
Focus
Synergy is when parts work together to create an effect greater than what they could ever achieve alone.
This is one of the core principles I try to live by, aligning all the pieces in one direction. When every effort, every role, every detail is pointed the same way, the results multiply. But if even one person, or one part of yourself, is rowing the opposite way, the whole journey stalls.
Quote I'm Enjoying
Every thing is your own fault, if you are any good- Hemmingway
I'm not sure if this quote can actually be prescribed to him but nonetheless it makes for a great capture of reality. If you are to have any change or effect in life, one must take responsibility!
Announcement
The North/South Instructional is out! Man do I love this position so much. To pass to, to pin, to connect with front headlock. Such an understudied and developed system for most. Enjoy and Maximize!
